Grade,manufacturing,sizes,standard and usage of brown fused alumina

Brown fused alumina is made from high quality bauxite,with high hardness and good toughness.

First,grades of brown fused alumina.

In China market,as I know there are five grades of brown fused alumina according to the Al2O3%,which are separatly as follows:

Secondly,Manufacturing process of brown fused alumina.

There are 2 kinds of melting furnaces–Tilting furnace and fixed furnace.The main difference of brown fused alumina melted from the two furnaces is as follows:

1.The color,brown fused alumina from tilting furnace looks more black.

2,The purity,Al2O3 of brown fused alumina from tilting furance can be promised more than 95%,even high to 97% sometimes.

3.SiO2%,SiO2 of brown fused alumina from tilting furnace usually is lower 1%,but the other one usually is 1-2%.

4,Physical properties,brown fused alumina from tilting furance has better self-sharpness.

5,Used fields,brown fused alumina from tilting furance are widely used in ceramic consolidated abrasive tools and refractoriness,the other one used for blasting,grinding,lapping,resin abrasive tool and coated abrasives etc.

Fourthly,applicaton of brown fused alumina

Usually 0-1mm 1-3mm 3-5mm 5-8mm -200mesh -325mesh of brown fused alumina are used for refractory or padding，other sizes are used for blasting,grinding,polishing,ceramic and coating etc.now list some exact applications,for example,F60 and F80 brown fused alumina are used for cookware blasting,F8,F10 and F12 are used in non-slip road. P240-P600 are used for blasting PCB plate and grinding carbide plate etc,besides,the lowest quality of brown fused alumina sometimes instead of garnet sand for waterjet cutting.
