Application of Brown Corundum in Wear-Resistant Industry
Brown corundum is also called brown alumina, corundum, etc. It has the characteristics of high hardness and good toughness.
The application of brown corundum in wear-resistant industry is mainly reflected in the following fields:
1. Industrial floor and road wear-resistant materials
Wear-resistant floor: Brown corundum is used as wear-resistant aggregate for industrial floor. After mixing with mortar, the surface hardness and wear resistance are significantly improved. It can withstand the impact and frequent friction of heavy machinery and is suitable for workshops, warehouses, parking lots and other scenes.
Anti-slip pavement: It is used in bridge decks, steep slopes and other areas. It is combined with resin as an anti-slip aggregate, which has both wear resistance and anti-slip properties, and the cost performance is better than traditional materials.
2. Filling materials and structural reinforcement
Wear-resistant fillers: Added to materials such as concrete and tile adhesives, it can enhance the compressive and tensile strength and extend the service life of facilities such as highways and airport runways.
Refractory materials: As aggregates, it is used in refractory bricks and castables in high temperature environments to improve wear resistance and thermal stability.
3. Grinding tools and tool manufacturing
Grinding wheels and grinding tools: Brown corundum grinding wheels have high hardness and good toughness, and are suitable for precision grinding of materials such as metals and stones, especially in high-temperature alloy processing.
Resin grinding tools: Resin grinding tools made by compounding with black corundum have higher sharpness and smoothness and lower cost.
4. Surface treatment and sandblasting process
Sandblasting decontamination: By spraying brown corundum particles at high pressure, the oxide layer and dirt on the surface of metals, glass, etc. are removed, with significant cleaning effect and no damage to the workpiece.
Polishing treatment: Used for polishing materials such as metals and ceramics to improve surface smoothness and reduce processing lines.
5. Other wear-resistant scenarios
Special products: Such as anti-slip materials for soles, automobile brake parts, etc., improve wear resistance by adding brown corundum.
New energy field: Used for wear-resistant treatment of solar panels and lithium battery components.
The above applications are all based on the high hardness, wear resistance and chemical stability of brown corundum. Through the development of different processes and composite materials, its applicability in multiple scenarios in the wear-resistant industry has been further expanded.
